History of David Chaudhary Ministries

Since 1972 the ministry of David and Sushila Chaudhary has taken them around the world preaching the good news of Jesus Christ face to face before tens of thousands.

Their love for people and desire to help those less privileged has not just been in word but is demonstrated through missionary-evangelism, crusades, support for third world pastors, leadership conferences, children’s work and disaster relief.

DCM Begins

In 1983 they established the charity David Chaudhary Ministries as a tool to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and in 2002 David Chaudhary Ministries Children’s Home was launched as a charity to facilitate their work amongst the most vulnerable in society – mainly in the third-world.

Initially ministering across the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and North America, it was their great joy in 1974 to return with their family to the Fiji Islands. For four months they ministered tirelessly preaching as many as four times a day. As a result of these powerful meetings where the Word was preached with power, and healings and miracles were evidence that Jesus is alive; and followed by several return visits, including one with Pastor Ron White; thousands came to accept Jesus Christ as a personal Saviour – many of Indian origin – something that had been rare until then. This was followed by a programme of supporting local pastors until they became self-sufficient, and to this day reports come from those that were impacted in those meetings as young people who are in the ministry today in various parts of the world such as New Zealand, Australia, Canada, America and of course Fiji.

Missions

In 1978, David made his first trip to India, the land of his forefathers. He was immediately overwhelmed with the task of reaching multiplied millions with the Gospel and moved at the plight of so many helpless children. Whilst this enforced his commitment to missions it also raised the question, “How can so few reach so many?” The answer came forcefully from Matthew 9:37-38 with a mandate to challenge God’s people for missions and to do something to meet the needs of the children.

From that time, with the help of its partners, David Chaudhary Ministries has supported national pastors, built churches, provided transportation and occasionally built homes for pastors who were in dire need.

"The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers”
Matt 9:37-38

DCM Children’s Home

After years of supporting others involved in children’s work, 1996 they saw the fulfilment of a vision for David and Sushila to build a children’s home of their own. Land was purchased and construction began on a home for needy children that would include an elementary school which would open to children from the local community.

On June 1st, twenty five years to the day of David launching into full-time ministry, the first group of children arrived at the DCM Children’s Home. Their progress has been a source of much joy to all who have helped make it possible. In 2010 some of the older children are receiving further education in college and medical school – something they otherwise could never have dreamed possible and those who have already graduated have entered into careers in the medical profession.

An added joy for David was to know that in improving the lives of these children he has completed the circle that his grandfather began many decades ago.

There is other work that continues, as well as helping a local ministry in Chennai build a children's home for the orphans of the 2004 tsunami, a new DCM Children's Home is being built in Andra Pradesh and is due for completion mid 2010.

With the support of its partners the work of David Chaudhary Ministries goes from strength to strength as they hold on to the values they’ve held for nearly 40 years in preaching the good news of Jesus Christ. Their motto: To make a difference. Their message: "Jesus Christ is Lord!" And their guiding principle: Jesus said, “Go”.

For nearly 40 years David & Sushila Chaudhary have shared the good news of Jesus Christ. Their ministry has encouraged thousands to believe the Love of God and receive Jesus Christ as a personal Saviour. Their love for people and concern for those less privileged has been expressed through missionary-evangelism, crusades, support for third world pastors, care for widows and orphans, children's homes, disaster relief and pastors and leaders conferences.
