Children's Homes

June 1st 1997 saw the opening of our first children’s home in India. Over the last decade this project has made a huge difference not just to the lives of children but also to the surrounding villages.

Because of the home many children have been given an opportunity they otherwise would never have had, to escape the cycle of poverty that grips so many today. Now, instead of a mere existence they face the future with hope and dreaming of becoming doctors, nurses, teachers & pastors.

Since opening DCM Children’s Home has provided not only a caring environment with shelter, food and clothing but also an elementary school providing education for local as well as residential children.

The Home Today

A number of the children have grown up in the home, having been with us for many years they excel in ways that would not otherwise have been possible – pursuing college and university courses with aspirations much higher then they would have dared to dream.

One student said to a colleague on entering college that if it hadn’t been for the DCM Children’s Home he would not have been qualified to sweep the floors in the building. These older students often return to the home to encourage the younger children to do their best with their education.

Future Projects

We are in the process of planning to build more children’s homes in India. We have identified 2 areas in need of our help.

The first is in a place called Chennai. There is an existing home in place already but the building they currently have is almost unusable. When it rains the roof leaks so badly that none of the electrics can be used.

At the moment there are 30 children being cared for there, however with the right facilities they could easily take more as the need in the area is great.

We also have a desire to build a home to care for children affected by the tsunami disaster, and will be announcing more details on this project as they become available.

For nearly 40 years David & Sushila Chaudhary have shared the good news of Jesus Christ. Their ministry has encouraged thousands to believe the Love of God and receive Jesus Christ as a personal Saviour. Their love for people and concern for those less privileged has been expressed through missionary-evangelism, crusades, support for third world pastors, care for widows and orphans, children's homes, disaster relief and pastors and leaders conferences.
